I hope this email finds you well! My name is Julie Duthey, and I am the heads of communication here at ATLAS, an organization promoting literary translation based in Arles, FR. I just wanted to share an opportunity for literary translators working to/from French.
Could you kindly share the following open call with your networks, to help us reach out to potential candidates?
„Winter in Provence“ – 3-month literary translation residency grant in Arles, in the South of France
As a residency host for Culture Moves Europe, a programme that supports individual mobility and residency projects across Creative Europe countries, ATLAS offers 5 residency grants for literary translators working to and from French, for a 3-month residency at the International College for Literary Translators (CITL), based in Arles, France.
Grantees will be able to focus on their translation projects and will be supported throughout their stay via a programme of activities designed to broaden or update their knowledge of the book industry in France, as well as their literary translation skills.
Calendar: Call for applications open until July 13th, 2026 Dates of residency: December 11th, 2026 – March 11th, 2027
Eligible candidates:
• Professional literary translators
• Legal residents of a Creative Europe partner country
• Be available to stay at the CITL for the entire duration of the residency
• Translate to or from French
• Have a current publishing contract for a literary translation at the time of the residency
Financial terms:
• Residency grant of €2,700 for 90 days
• Free accommodation at the CITL
